Provenance. The chalice is among the largest and finest surviving English medieval chalices, and may have been made for the monastic foundation of Cymer Abbey. This piece and the paten (RCIN 69049) were found on the mountainside of Cwn Mynach, near Dolgellau, in 1890. They were purchased by Baron Schroder in 1892.
